Kalki is the patent holder (No.422389. Reg Design Patent Nos. 225592, 301639 & 316090-001) issued from the Indian Patent Office and he has been engaging in the manufacturing, marketing, sales and services under the brand name “KALKIPURI” for his patented invention “BRONZE LID WITH SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO MAKE OIL LAMP INSECT FREE”. Kalki has specially formulated a peculiar and unmatched design for his patented invention (fully covered removable lid with special arrangements to prevent the fall of insects into oil) for using along with traditional uncovered lamps like Nilavilakku (stand alone oil lamps), Kavara Vilakku (multi branch oil lamps), Thookku Vilakku (hanging oil lamps), inauguration lamps etc. with varying number of wicks like five and seven etc. made from bronze, brass etc. and the packaged product is altogether named as “KALKIPURI INSECT FREE OIL LAMPS” (in Malayalam: കല്കിപുരി പ്രാണികള് കടക്കാത്ത അടപ്പുള്ള വിളക്കുകള്).
From here on, oil will not turn impure by the fall of insects into the oil. The oil, lamps and wicks which are used in worshiping should be pure. Kalki is the patent holder (No. 422389) of the Fully Covered Lid to prevent the fall of insects into oil.
This patented Fully Covered Lid can be used in all models such as stand alone lamps (Nilavilakku), multi branched lamps (Kavara Vilakku), hanging oil lamps (Thookku Vilakku), inauguration lamps etc. The lid can be smoothly removed and so it can be easily cleaned. There is a separate refill oil hole with removable cap on the Patented Fully Covered Lid.
It is compulsory that wicks of the lamp to point at accurate directions. For five wicks: East, South, West, North and North East. For seven wicks: East, South East, South, West, North West, North and North East. It is accurately followed in the design of Patented Kalkipuri Fully Covered Lid to prevent the fall of insects into the oil.
While using only two wicks in east and west directions, then other wick holes can be closed by wick hole lid so that insects may not enter through other wick holes. The dimension (4mm) of the cotton wick is same as the wick holes of the fully covered lid. High quality cotton wicks are available along with the product.
Patent certificate was issued on 20.02.2023 from Indian Patent Office. Patent application procedures were completed by Khurana and Khurana, the renowned IP consultants in India, it is valid till 20 years. Already, Kalki got Design Patents (Nos. 225592 & 301639). Also he has received Design Patent (No.316090-001) for the direction control of hanging oil lamp to fix it towards east direction.
Kalki is granted patent from Indian Patent Office (Patent No.422389 issued on 20.02.2023) for the fully covered lid for oil lamps to prevent the impurity of oil by the fall of insects published on Janmabhumi daily (Thrissur edition – online & printed edition) dtd 22.03.2023.
Grandfather of Kalki: Kizhakkumbatt Illath Damodaran Namboothiripad
First it was designed for Kalkipuri Temple established by the patent holder, grandson of Kizhakkumbatt Illath Damodaran Namboothiripad. Temple is situated in his birth place Edavannappara, Malappuram Dt., Kerala, India.
